What is exactly a Bank?
This simple question is not so easy to answer, even though most people know how a bank works, I think it might be interesting to read more about what is really a bank, and why they should have the support of government in difficult times like these.
It is quite common to hear how people, already furious of supporting the weight of the crisis and the cuts imposed on us from the Government, European Union and other financial institutions, seen as financial resources are decreasing, and are intended items of billions to rescue banks.
I will not go to assess whether it is correct or not bail out the banks, or whether if there are alternatives, if any, to the rescue of the banks. What I want to provide them is a link to the article that discusses this in The Salmon Blog, a blog well recognized economic content.
I hope that for those who did not know how a bank runs, it might have been helpful to know them better. Finally, I would like to comment that I do not agree 100% with all content being linked, but in general terms, and overall it seems quite clear how to explain it.
